Profile
I never thought that I would end up as an insurance agent. That was the farthest thing from my mind. In my youth, I dabbled in all kinds of occupations, from ranch hand to short order cook. I managed apartment complexes, started a painting business, and thought I had found my niche in the auto parts business. That’s what brought me to San Antonio in the late 1970’s.
I went through a rough patch in my personal life and decided to take some time off to reflect on where I had been and where I wanted to go when my life insurance agent proposed that I should consider a career in his field.
I was initially offended, then amused, but since I really didn’t have anything to do for the next few months, I decided to take him up on his offer. A funny thing happened when I first began meeting people and helping them secure the financial future of their families: I got a deep and very real sense that what I was doing was truly meaningful. Meaningful in a way that operating a successful retail auto parts business never was. Meaningful, in the sense that I had truly found my calling.
I soon realized that providing the insurance programs that protected my clients from financial ruin in the face of calamity was a significant contribution to the wellbeing of my clients and to the community that we share.
Over the past thirty plus years, I have been honored by my peers with the leadership of our professional association, have assisted with the education of insurance agents through the Life Underwriters Training Council, and been elected to the San Antonio NAIFA Hall of Fame, but I have derived my greatest satisfaction from helping hundreds of my fellow Texans provide peace of mind through properly designed and implemented insurance programs.
I am looking forward to meeting you personally and earning the opportunity to become your insurance advisor.
